It’s that time of year when thoughts turn to exotic foreign locations. And we think we’ve got something that might just appeal. How do you fancy a load of this:
Plus a hint of this:
A healthy dose of this:
The chance of some of this:
And of course stacks of this:
Like what you see? We do, which is why we’ve teamed up with top holiday operator www.Ticket2RideBC.com to bring you a one-off exclusive trip to the mountain bike heaven that is British Columbia.
Ticket2RideBC is on a mission to prove that there’s more to BC than just the Whistler Bike Park (although no trip to BC would be complete without some Bike Park action, and T2R’s base of operations is handily located in Whistler Village). Our ten-day trip will include trips to Vancouver’s legendary North Shore and the riding hotspots of Pemberton and Squamish, as well as a floatplane trip up into the Chilcotin Mountains for some proper backcountry singletrack (plus a night in a lakeside log cabin).
And as if all that isn’t enough, there’ll be the opportunity to partake in the unique experience of a heli-drop, with you and your bike choppered up ready to enjoy 6,600ft of descending. Plus you’ll be able to take advantage of skills coaching from T2R’s experienced guides and wind down in the evenings at the preposterously well-equipped chalet-style rider centre.
The dates of this exclusive T2R/BM trip are Friday 5 September to Sunday 14 September. The price of £1,050 represents a substantial saving over T2R’s regular Gravity Singletrack holiday and includes some extras that you wouldn’t otherwise get. And if you fancy extending your stay a bit, then T2R can help you out with that too…
What’s included
The price includes nearly all meals – breakfast, lunches on guided days and eight three-course evening meals. It also includes the necessary passes for Whistler Bike Park and Mt Seymour, all guiding and coaching, all transfers and accommodation. You can check out the facilities on offer at www.ticket2ridebc.com.
What’s not included
You’ll need to arrange your own flights to Vancouver – T2R recommend www.canadianaffair.com and www.flyzoom.com. Return flights in September start from around £360. Also worth a look are BA and Air Canada.
Once you’re in Vancouver things are pretty much all taken care of. You’ll need to get your own lunch on non-guided days, and the heli-drop is an extra £125 if you want to take that option. The only other thing is insurance, which is vital – even getting yourself checked out after a spill is likely to cost a few hundred dollars. Ticket2RideBC can advise on suitable insurance.
Booking
You can book this trip of a lifetime online at www.ticket2ridebc.com or call the UK office on 0870 7202 880. You’ll need to quote reference “Magic 08” to make sure you end up on the right trip.
