Here’s a way to spend your weekend. Ride different bikes in different and equally as fantastic Welsh locations in glorious weather. Can’t get much better can it? Owain James rides for the camera of Will Sanders Productions.
Have you ever wondered how to spend a weekend mtbing in wales? Many months ago OJ decided it was about time to go on a mini road trip. The aim of the trip? To try and hit as many unknown and hidden gems around north and mid wales that was possible in just two very short days.
The Saturday saw him smashing in some runs on the loamy tracks around Betws y Coed, before heading over to the renowned Dyfi forest. On a good day the Dyfi is arguably has one of the most spectacular landscapes in wales, if not then at least you’ve still got a seemingly endless amount of technical enduro trails.
Sunday took a change for the best weather wise. The frozen hikers paths began to gain some traction, just in time for a few laps on Oj’s yeti, before making his way over to the man made loops at the trail centre. By the end of the day the sun had become pretty fierce beaming down creating a haze of heat, taking full advantage of this we pottered down the road from the climax car park to the only place were we could guarantee some dust in april; a hidden trail located in the farmland hillsides only a few miles apart from the Dyfi.
