There has been a bit of commotion lately about the potential inclusion of XC Eliminator (XCE) into the Olympic mountain biking schedule, which, if it happens, will make a lot of people who say it isn’t a true mountain biking discipline a little unhappy (when some of the courses are mostly tarmac they could be seen as having a point). XCE has been elevated to official World Cup discipline this year, while Four Cross (4X) was dropped at the end of the 2011 season.
The 4X Pro Tour has been set up to try and revive the discipline, and with impressive looking tracks like this it’s certainly going to be grabbing people’s attention. What do you think about the demise of 4X World Cup racing and the rise of XCE? Will we see a 4X revival thanks to the Pro Tour?
4X Pro Tour track at JBC Bike Park, Czech Republic, ready for round 4 of the series on Saturday 3rd August 2013
