Memory-Map and Sustrans have teamed up to produce digital map data of the whole National Cycle Network, bringing details of 12,000 miles of traffic-free and quiet bike routes to your desktop. The CD will include Memory-Map’s V5 software and a 1:250,000 scale base map – if you’re already a Memory-Map user you’ll be able to import the NCN data as an overlay on to your 1:50,000 or 1:25,000 OS maps, which could prove very handy for planning rides that use NCN routes to link other rights of way.

Julian Hunt, Sustrans information and trading manager, says “This software will attract a whole new audience to the National Cycle Network. It will provide a simple to use digital guide for cyclists on either long-distance rides or just show people how to find shortcuts to the shops, school or work which will make it quicker and easier to making the same journey by car.”

Memory-Map’s managing director, Ray Badminton says “This product is an absolute no brainer for us. We’ve worked hard with Sustrans to bring it to market in time for spring and will be an ideal planning tool for any cyclist heading out this summer.
