Magura 2010

2010 will be a “consolidation year” at Magura, with a selection of refinements rather than all-new products. The German fork and brake brand had a flurry of newness for 2008 and ’09, though, so it’s not entirely surprising. The brake line remains entirely unchanged, although the Louise Carbon brake is now available in white.

The Durin Marathon fork will lose the Albert Select switchable/adjustable low-speed compression damping system in favour of the DLO+ lockout. Said lockout system now has a blow-off so it’ll take up big hits even when locked out, Magura clearly having decided that that’s a more useful arrangement for the fast yet long-haul riding that the Durin Marathon is aimed at. The clue’s in the name and all that.

Inside the Durin is a modified shim stack and new damper oil formulation. Outside are redesigned adjuster knobs with cleaner cable routing for the bar-mounted remote levers. There’s also a choice of five colours (white, black, yellow, red and silver).

The all-mountain Thor also has a revised shim setup and will also be available with the increasingly-popular 1.125/1.5in tapered steerer option.
