BMC has signed an exclusive deal with Evans Cycles that will see the Swiss manufacturer’s bikes sold in the shop chain’s 35 stores. BMC has been in and out of the UK for a few years, but the Evans deal looks likely to raise its profile considerably.
“The pedigree of the brand is undoubted and we’ve been very impressed with the quality of the 2010 range. Bringing BMC into the UK and stocking it in our stores is really exciting and offers British cyclists even more choice when it comes to riding top notch bikes”. says Head Bike Buyer at Evans Cycles, Joel Natale. “Taking them in direct means we can offer these great bikes at realistic prices.”
Evans will be stocking BMC’s mountain, road, cyclocross and women’s bikes. The MTB range looks good – pictured is the £1,999 Trailfox 02, packing 140mm of travel from a short-link suspension design at the back and a RockShox Recon fork up front. There are hardtails too, which now feature the extra little triangle that’s a signature of BMC’s road bikes. Just try not to think “GT” at first glance… The splendidly red Team Elite 04 has a 6040 aluminium butted and hydroformed frame, RockShox fork and Deore bits at £799.
