Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Operative have issued an invitation for riders wanting to test Whyte’s 2013 fleet at their Lee Quarry demo day this weekend.
The retailer’s demo day will run from 10am to 5pm on both Saturday August 25 and Sunday August 26 at the Lancashire trail centre.
“Hearing about a bicycle company is one thing,” according to the Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Op. “You’re only going to know if their bike is going to do it for you if you can actually ride it on the type of terrain it was built for.”
That’s why they’re inviting riders to put Whyte’s bikes to the test. Edinburgh staff will lead you on a varied 40 minute loop around the trail centre.
The demo days are free to attend but Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Op have asked riders to register in advance to help ensure both events run smoothly.
You’ll be able to spot the Edinburgh team by their gazebo beside the pump track. Bikes will be lent out on a first-come first-served basis, with no advance booking. The first 20 registered riders who visit the gazebo each day will get a free goodie bag.
Don’t forget: to bring proof of address/photographic ID and a credit or debit card for security. Allow time for ID checking, waiver form signing and getting fitted to the bike. Remember to bring appropriate all-weather mountain bike clothing with you, especially your own pedals, shoes and helmet.
Bikes available will include:
Whyte T-129 S – sizes available: 1 x small, 1 x medium, 1 x large
Whyte M-109 S – 1 x small, 1 x medium, 1 x large
Whyte 29er CS Hardtail – 1 x small, 1 x medium, 1 x large
Whyte 146 Works – 1 x medium
Whyte 146 S – 1 x medium
Whyte 729 100mm 29er aluminium hardtail – 1 x small, 1 x medium, 1 x large
One final word of advice from Edinburgh: if there’s a specific bike you want to ride, allow a good chunk of time in case it’s being ridden or there’s already a waiting list.
