Jeremiah Bishop sealed a dominant Trans-Sylvania Epic performance with a second place finish on the final stage to take the overall crown.

The Cannondale rider led the seven-stage race from start to finish after winning the opening prologue by more than two minutes.

Bishop underlined his dominance with victory on Friday’s Queen Stage, putting 30 seconds into general classification rival Jason Sager (Team Jamis) on the final one-mile climb.

That gave Bishop a seven minute, 39 second advantage over Sager going into the final stage and it was the duo, along with Justin Lindine, who attacked in unison.

The trio shared the work over the 26-mile course before Lindine took the final stage victory as Bishop claimed his second Trans-Sylvania Epic title, with Sager second overall, seven minutes, forty seconds back, and Kona’s Kris Sneddon third, a further two minutes, 55 seconds adrift.

Meanwhille, Amanda Carey (Kenda/Felt)won the women’s race after field agreed to a parade lap on the final stage, with Selene Yeager (Team CF) second and Vicki Barclay (NoTubes/FTC/Performance Labs) third. Rich Straub (Freeze Thaw/BikeFlights/NoTubes) took victory in the singlespeed class.
