X-Fusion is hoping to step up to the heavyweights in the suspension market with the announcement this week of the Vector Air, a brand new air shock aimed at all-mountain and downhill riders looking to shed a little weight from their bikes.
The company tell us the “Vector Air raises the bar for air-sprung rear shock absorbers by offering the best weight, performance, and adjustability for it’s intended use,” and is aimed squarely at the Fox DHX Air and RockShox Vivid Air, but undercuts both of them on the weight front hitting the scales at 450g.
An oversized CNC-machined aluminium 31.5mm damper body and piston designed to reduce heat build-up as well as reduced air canister wall thickness increases the cooling surface by 40%. High and low speed compression is adjustable without needing any tools with easy access too.
It’s available in five sizes; 200×56, 215×63, 222×69, 240×76 and 267×89. There’ll be two models available, the Vector Air HLR and Vector Air RC.
