Organisers of the 10 Under the Ben have issued a last call for entries ahead of the legendary endurance event on Saturday May 26 at Fort William.
This flagship mountain bike challenge from No Fuss Events sees riders compete over a gruelling 10-mile course for 10 hours to see who can complete the most laps. The course for 2012 includes a mix of forest roads and singletrack, as well as incorporating some new introductions and desire lines in the Forestry Commission Scotland’s Leanachan Forest.
Benromach and No Fuss have made a special call for teams of local pub, hotel and cafe mountain biking enthusiasts to sign up, which could see them crowned the best cycling team of their kind in the country.
“The event has proved immensely popular, attracting both novice and experts to take on the challenge as individuals or teams,” said David Murno from No Fuss Events.” If you have not already signed up for this year’s 10 Under the Ben event then I would urge you to do so as soon as possible.”
David Urquhart, joint managing director at Gordon & MacPhail, proprietors of Benromach Distillery, who are sponsoring the event for the fifth consecutive year, added: “As the very first of the No Fuss 10 hour endurance races this event has earned a huge reputation as one of the biggest and best. The entry list is filling fast. All participants can look forward to witnessing the most spectacular views.”
