Following the success of the UCI World Cup XC race at Dalby Forest earlier this year, XC racing returns to the Yorkshire forest on Sunday 13 June with the Nutcracker series of six races.
The organisers say: “Those of you who competed in the Dalby Dare back in April will be all too familiar with the man-made course, from the fantastic high-speed bends in Dixon’s Hollow, to the perils of Worry Gill. 4 miles in length, the course certainly provides a challenge for all. Don’t worry too much though – we’re making sure that we put a chicken run around every obstacle to make the course 100% rideable, even for novices.”
The event is classified as British Cycling Regional A and will include the following race categories: Juveniles (U14), Youth (U16), Junior (17-18), Fun (19+ Non-ranking “Novice” race), Senior Sports (19-29), Masters (30-39), Veterans (40-49), Grand Veterans (50+), Super Veterans (60+), Experts and Elites.
Entries will be taken from Under 12’s in the Sweat Monsters Academy. This is a free skills development session with a custom built short course for the monsters to race on.
