It’s day three of our month long focus on 29ers, with a daily 29er bike showcase the central theme.
We’ve featured a Trek Fisher and a Cannondale so far, here is today’s offering.
Pivot Mach 429
Pivot is another US company that has been on side with 29ers with years, and its Mach 429 is well evolved and incredibly capable.
What makes it special?
Dave Weagle’s DW-Link is used to good effect on the Mach 429, with two short linkages connecting the front triangle and the swingarm with 100mm of very efficient suspension. A triple butted aluminium frame is purposeful rather than elegant, a zero stack headset keeps the front low, a 92mm bottom bracket allows the design of a huge downtube, and the carbon shock linkage adds a bit bling.
