How time flies. It seems like only yesterday that Specialized unleashed the spectacularly light 2D helmet onto the world, but three years later it’s time for that helmet to slip down the ladder. It’s been replaced with the new Specialized Prevail.
The Prevail has already been spotted on the heads of some professional riders, and while it keeps similar lines to the previous S-Works lid the Prevail has improved venting and a lighter overall weight.
The ‘4th dimensional cooling’ as Specialized have dubbed it, promises to suck in even bigger gulps of air and dispense it quicker through a massive forehead port, improved central and exhaust ports, leaving you cooler and fresher for longer.
It’s lighter too. The Morgan Hill company reckons it’s 15g lighter at 185g, which has been made possible with a lighter foam, less material in the already light buckles and 4X DryLite webbing, and a new micro-dial retention device that allows for height adjustment.
