We’ve been turning our attention to cold weather clothing, in our attempt to stave off the cold and dampness that now seems a daily occurrence. We’ve got a buyer’s guide to winter gloves here and waterproof jackets come in for scrutiny, as we discuss fit, features and fabrics.
Armed with that essential information it’s easier to pick the right product, but we’ve gone one step further and picked out some of our favourites. So here’s six of the best jackets that cost less than £100, a small price to pay for happy riding.
The face of cycling jackets looks set to change next year though as Gore-Tex have unveiled details of its brand new fabric, Active Shell. We’ve got the skinny on what sets it apart and you can read that here.

During a ride around the Peak District we popped into the UK Five Ten distributors and begged them to lend us a pair of the new SPD compatible Hellcat shoes. We thrashed them around the rocky and wet trails and you can read our first ride impressions.
