2010 World Champion José Antonio Hermida has just received his new and customised Merida O-Nine ready for defending his title next season.
It is now three months since José became World Champion in Canada and, gradually, his sponsors have been working on versions of their products that honour this race win.
While the new bike is identical to the one he rode this year, manufacturer Merido put their spray cans to good use in creating a custom paint finish with white replacing the usual green found on the company’s team bikes. Rainbow colours and icons complete the special bike.
Moreover, José’s bike has been customized in different places, featuring the rider’s name in the seatstays and his signature on the front part of the top tube. Along the chainstays reads the note “From world class to legend”.
Merida say that no replicas of this bike will be available, which seems a shame to us. Anyway, here’s some nice photos. Enjoy.
