Sustrans route 4, the Celtic Trail, has just officially
opened Wales’ newest mountain bike route!
The 24 mile route runs over the forestry Rhigos mountains between Neath and Pontypridd.
This is a real wilderness experience and ideal for mountain bikers who want to get
away from it all for a day.
Currently the route starts at either end with a lung busting climb on tarmac roads,
before joining the forest roads that make up a large percentage of the route.
Climbing to 600 meters you’ll enjoy some fantastic views over the Brecon Beacons
National Park and the glistening Gower coastline. And as with all good routes the
haul up is worth it for hours of downhill fun!
