If
you’re one of the new breed of rider, looking for mountainbiking fun without going
up in the hills, then you should find out more about the British Dirt Riders Association.
Set up to help riders co-ordinate the development of Bicycle SuperCross in the UK,
the BDRA will visit prospective venues to check and advise on such things as course
design, race formats and so on.
Though
the discipline is only comparatively new, a governing body run by riders, for riders
is a good way to go, ensuring good quality events and points to determine who really
is the best (or who’s the best after Gilly!)…
For a years adult membership, that’s over 18 it will cost £10, for under 18’s
£5. For this you will receive a membership card which will have to be shown
at sign on at BDRA events to get your ranking points. The membership year will run
from January to January.
