New wonder pill from the PSP boys

New wonder pill from Science in Sport (the Lancashire based PSP drink makers) is a super supplement that claims to be truly wearing it’s underpants on the outside.

Conjugated Linoleic Acid – or CLA to it’s friends – was originally traced in ground beef (that’s beefburger mince to you and me) and proven to have anticarginogenic properties. Since then tests CLA has been demonstrated to;

– Reduce body fat accretion and increase lean muscle mass

– Improve immune function

– Increase bone mineralisation

– Inhibit carcinogenesis

– Reduce atherosclerosis

Science in Sport use specifically rich isogens of the acid, which is a naturally occuring supplement (particularly rich in pasture fed cows) and can be absorbed easily into the body.

Dosage depends on your aim, with 2-3g per day for general health and 3-6g daily on a fat loss programme. Apparently it’s worked wonders on Tim at Science in Sport, whose figure had suffered badly during the development of their “Tastyjack” flapjacks, but can now fit back in the lime green leather jeans we used to complain about at trade shows several years ago.

We’ve got a tub of the soft gel capsules (£19.99 for 90 capsules) to try so we’ll let you know how we get on. In the meantime there are far more scientific details as well as all the references to back them up on the scienceinsport website.
