According to Mr Schwinn – Mike Wilkens – the man from Del Armee, he say “yes!!!”.

“After intensive talks with the Army the official clearance has been given for the 1st and 2nd September 2001 to run the Schwinn 100 or the same course as last year (race day is Sunday 2nd September). Luckily the Schwinn 100 organizer team was only forced to change the date – the rest of the event is staying exactly the same:

There will be a big pasta party on Saturday night, music, trade and information stands, free parking, free camping, food stations available during the race and lots of other prizes and goodies from our sponsors PARROT Performance Wear, MBR, PowerBar, Limar and Gaerne. Even with the food & mouth disease dangling over the event the response has been extremely good with roughly 900 riders signed on – but there is no reason to panic – there are still places left. However, after the enormous success and feedback from last year and the permanently growing popularity of endurance events there is no time to be wasted. There is a limit on the numbers of entries and entry on the day looks highly unlikely.

If there are any problems with the changed date please get in touch in writing with John Lloyd @ Builth Wells Cycles (please state name and category). There is still roughly three months to go, so go out and get some training.
