The first ‘IMBA UK’ meeting at Coed-y-Brenin was a phenomenal success.
IMBA trail crew representatives Jen and Rich Edwards met with Forest Enterprise representatives, mountain bike trail builders, mountain bike media, BDRA, CTC and Jon Whyte from ATB sales (massive credit to him and them for making the effort to be the only “industry” there at very short notice).

The aim was to establish a working group under the IMBA umbrella and guidance to take mountain biking forward to councils, land managers and ultimately all levels of government as the best thing to encourage in a countryside currently crippled by access issues. Wales has already recognised the huge economic input of the trails at Coed-y-Brenin and is investing hundreds of thousands into a wide range facilities for us riders, IMBA want to take that message countrywide.

We’ve got huge media and industry interest and support behind us already and this is going to be the most significant development for mountain biking in a long time.
We’ll let you know more details immeadiately we get them confirmed, but for now the outline plan is to hold 4 trailbuilding schools around the country in September and a possible IMBA Epic (mix of trailbuilding and big ride) in October.
