BM has teamed up with the organisers of Cycle 2002 and Trek to give BIKEmagic members a chance to win a Trek Bruiser Two.Cycle 2002 is a new cycle show that aims to broaden the awareness and appeal of cycling while still providing plenty of interest for existing riders of all types. If when we say bike show you’re thinking pile it high and sell it cheap show bargains then think again. The emphasis at Cycle 2002 is on information, innovations and interaction and there is no retail element at all.
The show is on next week, September 27-29th (with a preview day for trade and press on the 26th), at the Business Design Centre in Islington. Exhibitors include bike, clothing and kit manufacturers, shops (though not to sell), magazines, travel operators and cycling organisations. There’s also a look into the future at the New Designers stand showcasing the latest designs, products and innovations courtesy of the industry’s bright young things. It’ll be packed with all things cycling.
On the practical side there’s a series of seminars for a range of experiences covering topics including health and nutrition, bike safety, touring and maintenance and designs of the future. All the experts and several big industry names will be around to chat and answer questions informally. Oh, and if you turn up by bike you can have it checked over for free.
It’s not a look but don’t touch show, there’s a strong interactive element including a try out area where you can put new models on display to the test and the I Magic Challenge Interactive Racing where you can race against the clock or even challenge a partner on Lance Armstrong’s or Roland Green’s bike. Meanwhile the less energetic can settle down to watch three of the latest cycling films or catch up with the action from the Vuelta and the World Track Championships.
