It’s been a while since there’s been a round of the Giant NRS XC National Points Series up in Scotland, but this weekend it’s heading up to Drumlanrig Castle (about 18 miles north of Dumfries).
The organisers describe the course as “an exciting singletrack affair, a few steep climbs with loads of entertaining swoopy trail around some of Scotlands finest scenery. Oh, and MASSIVE trees.” Which sounds pretty promising.
If you’ve got non-riding family types in tow then this is probably a fine race to attend – the Castle itself is quite a significant tourist attraction in its own right. Camping is available (free on Friday, fiver a pitch on Saturday) and you can enter on the day or at www.npsxc.com.
Somewhat further south, the third round of the NPS 4X series will take place on Saturday on a brand new course at Aston Hill. And if that’s your bag you’ll probably want to stick around until Sunday for Round 3 of the Southern Downhill Series. More at www.nps4x.com.
And finally there’s small-wheeled elbows-out race action in Bristol with Round 6 of the National BMX Series taking place across both days. More at www.bristolbombersbmx.com.
