In an only slightly embarrassing result for the US, Steve Peat and Fionn Griffiths have won their respective categories in the finals of the NORBA National Championship Mountain Bike Series at Durango, Colorado. The result puts Griffiths at the top of the series table, but as she’s not American the Championship title goes to Marla Streb. Streb only managed fourth in the finals (just behind Tracy Moseley…) but it was enough to be top US finisher.

In the men’s event, Greg Minnaar was top of the series tree having come second in the finals. But he’s South African so he didn’t win the title either, that honour going to Eric Carter. Not a bad weekend’s work for Carter as he won the Mountain Cross (aka 4X) title yesterday.

It’s all looking good for the Brits at the forthcoming World Championships in Lugano, Switzerland…
