Tomac 98 Special Enduro

Bikemagic Bikemagic

There seems to be a degree of confusion over the Tomac 98 Special Enduro (2/3 August, Abbeycwmhir, Wales), with the organisers receiving lots of calls from people who believe that the event is full. The good news is that it isn’t – there are still places available, so call 01982 552762 or email enduroevents@aol.com for more details.

Organisers Enduro Events tell us that they plan to take entries on the day, but can’t guarantee there’ll be places for everyone who shows up on spec. Best to enter in advance and be sure of a place…

Tomac 98 Special Enduro

Bikemagic Bikemagic

Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be room in the rammed 2003 MTB event calendar, along comes another enduro event from the appropriately-named Enduro Events. They’re the team behind last year’s Kona Sequel. This year they’re doing their own thing, and the Tomac 98 Special is it.

The Special takes place from Rhayader, mid Wales, on August 2/3 2003. As the name suggests the event is sponsored by Tomac (and Litespeed, Merlin and Quintana Roo) importers American Bicycle Group, along with Continental, SiS and SixSixOne.

There are two length options, 50km or 100km (which surely ought to be 98km really) plus a Special Test off-road time trial stage within the route to satisfy the competitive element. The entry fee of £23 (100km) or £18 (50km) includes all the usual amenities – pasta party, event memento, camping, parking and feed stations.

You can download an entry form from that home of all things MTB and Wales MTB-Wales.com, or email enduroevents@aol.com. Phone number? Of course there’s a phone number – 01982 552762.
