It’s been a little while in the making, but finally howies are launching a new range of bike kit. This news should have plenty of long-term howies fans jumping with joy, especially after the brand was ’bought back’ from larger powers by the staff that work there and really care about their sports, the kit they use and the brand’s reputation. Looks like we’ll be seeing howies return to their glory days.

The howies range is heading back to its roots with durable, understated and desirable riding kit. Today they’ve launched their cycling range and we are happy to tell you that a mountain bike range is due for imminent release – photos of the howies clan testing their creations in the gallery above.
We’ll have an exclusive interview and a look around the MTB range coming very soon so keep your eyes peeled.
The MTB range launches soon, but in the mean time here’s the word on the cycling range from howies’ Brainfood:
The howies Cycle Range
We bike to work and home again, evening rides and weekend
jollies. Getting covered in crap, cuts and grazes and aches
and pains. We love it. That’s why we do it everyday.
Funny thing is, we’ve never really got around to making any serious kit for it… Until now.
The Seamless Story.
The seamless circular knit technology used in this range means that
these pieces are precision built to fit your body, just like your own skin.
They provide a snug fit that will go virtually unnoticed as you wear it.
They are made on specialist machines capable of knitting yarn into a
single continuous tube shape. This means we make body panels in
one piece, minimizing the need for seams – seams that could potentially
cause painful friction or chaffing on longer rides.
The circular knitting machines are also capable of varying patterns in
the fabric as they knit too. This means that we can have different
weaves on the same panel and precisely tailor them to match specific
parts of the body. For instance, we can integrate lighter breathable
panels in sweatier areas like the underarms and back, or produce
areas with more compression around hems and places where you
need a tighter fit. We can now do all this without the need for separate
panels, seams and stitching.
This makes a truly comfortable, formfitting garment with a minimalist
design. Just like us humans.
