Bikemagic Bikemagic

The second round of the Saddle Skedaddle Gorrick Spring Series goes to the very popular Tunnel Hill, Hampshire, on 8 February.

Organisers are expecting over 600 riders to turn out and if you’re planning on attending, online pre-entry is available at the website today. Entry on the day is subject to a £2 surcharge.

There will be full facilities and series points up for grabs, as well as another Saddle Skedaddle holiday which any rider over 18 has a chance to win.

This from the organisers: “Thank you once again to all of you who turned out for round 1, and made it such a great day despite the mud! We hope to see you all again on the 8 February where there will be plenty of rideable singletrack and trails whatever the weather.”

Gorrick Spring Series Round 2

Bikemagic Bikemagic

The Gorrick Spring Series returns to Tunnel Hill for round 2, following the last minute change of venue that affected round 1.

Round 2 happens on 17 February and a great course has been carved out around the popular Tunnel Hill venue, close to Mytchett on the outskirts of Farnborough, Hampshire.

Organisers tell us that they expect over 600 riders to turn up for the racing. Pre-entry closes Tuesday 12 February, so be quick. Otherwise there’s a £2 surcharge for entry on the day.

Just to add extra interest to the day, Cambridge and Oxford Universities will battle it out for their annual varsity match, going off just after the Sport riders.

The organiser says: “Thank you once again to all of you who turned out for Round 1, despite the late changes that we had to make, and so made it the great day out that it was. We hope to see you all again on the 17 [February] where there will be fewer hills and lots of fantastic new singletrack.”

The Gorrick Spring Series sprang into life last month with over 500 riders rolling up to the start. Riders were treated to a great course and equally great weather, and organisers are planning the same again for round two on Sunday 19 January at Crowthorne Woods, near Bracknell.

There’ll be plenty of prizes supplied by supporting local bikeshops, and Exodus holidays are giving away an adventure holiday to one lucky person, to be picked at random from all the entrants.

Expect all the usual facilities including the new Entry Express, a faster way to get your number board after having pre-entered. The organisers have been prepping the course and tell us it’s looking good, with some new sections to add to the already great course.
