Coming Up: The Sudety MTB Challenge

The ninth edition of Sudety MTB Challenge starts this Sunday. Riders from all over the world will compete for six days on the trails of Sudety Mountains. Total race distance is nearly 400km and 12000m ascent. The difficulty of each stage will be compensate with beautiful views, which will be on the route every day.

On the first day of competition we will observe a time trial on the stretch of 8 km. Distance of the prologue is short but route is mainly uphill. First stage is the longest one, almost 90km. Finish line will be placed in Czech town – Kraliky. The second stage – we’re getting back to Poland. A few long uphills and some technical descents. The fourth day: technical singletracks on the Polish / Czech boarder and tough descent at the end of the stage. The next day we will go near to the „Silver Mountain” fort, this section is very technical. The final stage is routed mainly on the Polish / Czech border. Finish line will be placed in the Kudowa Zdrój.

The top favorites to win are Czechs, Martin Horak and James Kavalir from BMC Savo Racing. There is also strong Polish team – Sebastian and Sylwester Swat and Austrians – Axel Strauss and René Reidinger from Bikeboard.at. In the solo category favorites are: American Jason Sager (winner of the Trans Andes and BC Bike Race) and the Czech Republic Tomáš Vokrouhlík, but we can’t forget about: Sönke Wegner (Germany), Jose Luis Arce (Spain) and the unpredictable Belgians, Swiss and British.

On the occasion of the announcement Sudety MTB chalenge 2013, we would like to announce the dates of our stage races in 2014. Beskidy MTB Trophy will be held on: 19-22.06.2014. The tenth – anniversary edition of the Sudety MTB Challenge 2014 will be held from 27.07 to 08.01.2014.
