If we were given a large pile of timber and free reign to design a North Shore park, it would probably not look too dissimilar to the new Lumberjack Trail in Bike Park Leogang, Austria.
It's the latest addition to the already impressive collection of trails, and significantly raises the bar several notches. Judging from these photos, it looks to be impressive stuff. It features a huge wall ride, as well as a whole bunch of North Shore ladders and logs including a variety of different sized drops are waiting for mountain bikers from all over Europe.
The HU Cooperation, which is well known for its shaping and construction skills, started to rebuild the North Shore park in the week after the Out of Bounds Weekend. The Lumberjack Trail is situated between the Terminator (dual slalom track) and the Flow Master (dirt jump park), right above the base station.
There's different lines to suit different needs, including wide northshore ladders to narrow logs with curves and small gaps in between. But the new Lumberjack Trail is also perfect for training drops: ranging from half a meter (2 feet) to over five meters (15+ feet).
The 26Trix dirt jumping event on 19-21 September will be the first chance to see the best riders in the world take to the new trail.
