Got cold fingers on a long road section? Find a petrol station
and (after asking the attendant) get some of the plastic disposable gloves next to
the deisel pump. They’ll keep the wind off your digits and increase the temperature
enough so you should be able to feel your finger nails again.

It’s probably worth getting a couple of pairs and keeping some in your Camelbak or
seatpack should the situation arise again.
