see i would say for that, 26inch 650b or 29er, its not going to make any differance.
that is good bike skills riding stuff that most people would be using a trail built full sus for, and he is going flat out on some light XC hardtail.
could that be the reason why he won, he was just much better then the rest?

Anyone know the weight difference bewteen the Scott (Schurter) and the Specialized (Kulavy and Stander)?
Last I heard, Schurters bike is 18lbs, Kulhavys Specilaized is 24lb
Good question Storm! Would imagine the weight of Stander and Schurter’s bikes (both hardtails) would be pretty similar. Kulhavy’s Epic must be a bit lighter, but can’t be by any more than a pound.
I’d hazard a guess at 17-18lbs for Schurter’s Scott
That is not a photo from the Nove Mesto Na Morave world cup it’s from pietermaritzburg!!! Several clues, one Nino Schurter is not wearing the world cup leaders jersey, and has number 2 on his number board not number one as he was in Nove Mesto Na Morave and if that’s not enough he wasn’t running bar ends at Czech world cup round and was wearing black SIDI’s not white.

I think Kulhavy’s bike is around 22lbs and Schurter’s scale is about 16lbs, I might be wrong but sure thats what Thomas Frischknecht said in commentary at round 1.
I think thats Stander behind Nino and that 29 looks far too big for him….wonder how long it will be before spec get a 650b for him too..
Quite a long time I imagine as specialized have been fairly outspoken about 29er’s being a much better option and that they are not going to make a 650b bike any time soon.
Kulhavy’s S-Works is deemed the heaviest bike on the circuit amongst the top guys at a few grams over 20lbs. That said he is also the only fast guy at the front on suspension.
