The difference from my old M520s was quite dramatic – the platform is much larger so the shoe feels a lot more stable. I didn’t feel a huge difference in clipping in, maybe felt a bit more easy to find the pedal.

All around, definitely an improvement over the older almost platform-free Shimano pedals.
