GT 2011 range launched

Founded in 1972, GT hasn’t enjoyed the highest profile for the past few years, but that should be set to change since being bought by Dorel in 2004 and becoming part of the company’s Cycling Sports Group last year, with a focus on re-establishing GT as the desirable brand it once used to be.

So last week in Les Deux Alpes, a valley that sits in the shadow of Alpe d’Huez in the French Alps, journalists from the four corners of the globe gathered to see and ride the brand new 2011 range of bikes.

We were fortunate to enjoy two days fantastic riding on the superb trail network, with several chairlifts in operation and the trails thick with dust and a spectacular mountain backdrop and unspoilt blue sky, it was the ideal setting to sample the new products.

I got the chance then to ride some of the more interesting bikes in the range, and will bring you my first ride impressions later this week. Until then, here’s a brief overview of what’s new, starting with the full suspension side of the range.
