Loved the shape and padding on the saddle but the ti rails bend way too easily, have two at home in the “parts” bin with bent rails.

Yep I’ve used both and found the knife much more comfortable. And I 100% agree with paulhaysom. The padding should be in yr shorts chamois.

I’ve had a Fizik Gobi XM for 18 months (came with my bike), but I find it hard on the sit bones. Does anyone have any experience of the Gobi vs. the Knife?

If I remember rightly a firmer saddle with less padding will be more comfortable. I guess with mountain biking you’re in and out of the saddle quite a bit though, same rule apply?

I LOVE my Knife, just like I love my two Spoons. I spent a lot of time and effort messing about with carbon railed saddles. Had loads of problems with the Crank Brothers rail kits – dobbed it in for a Knife and have never looked back. Now, I just put a Spoon or a Knife on every bike I buy. Always cheap, always comfortable.
