Specialized Demo 7 2008
This bike is currently on ebay, where bidding hasn't started yet - I'm open to discuss offers.
I'm selling up my Specialized Demo 7. It's never been my main bike so hasn't seen a lot of use. Considering the thing is bomb proof, it's hardly been broken in. Used mainly for fun on local hills it's only seen real use on a few uplifts at Innerliethen, once at Fort William and a week in Morzine.
I ran the bike with a set of Formula brakes but am selling with the juicy 3's that came with it. They might not be dedicated DH brakes (not great for Fort Bill or proper big tracks) but they are good enough for mucking about and as they've not had much use, they're in great condition - maybe due a bleed and I can't vouch for pad life but that's normal.
The bike was given a once over by iCycles at Innerleithen and given the thumbs up. I was told the fork isn't in need of a service yet but I have spotted a small amount of oil on the rebound knob and stanchion so you might want to pencil in a bit of TLC somewhere down the line. Rear shock works a treat and isn't in need of work. Suspension was set up by at iCycles and it's feeling very balanced, for me anyway. Pivots are all as clean as whistles.
The bike is a medium and apart from a few parts, is close to stock build - details below.
Frame - Specialized Demo 7 Medium (manual included)
Rear Shock - Fox DHX4 with rebound and propedal
Fork - Marzocchi 66RCV (manual included)
Rear Mech - Sram X9 (manual included)
Chain Guide - Gamut (manual included)
Shifter - Sram X9 (manual included)
Brakes - Avid Juicy3 (manual included)
Hubs - Specialized
Rims - DT Swiss E540 (couple of dings but only cosmetic)
Tyres - Schwalbe Muddy Mary & Maxxis High Roller (both have seen use but have life left in them)
Cranks - Truvativ Hussefelt
BB - Truvativ
Stem - Truvativ Holzfeller
Bars - Race Face Race Face Evolve 730mm (BRAND NEW & UNUSED)
Grips - Ergon GA-1
Saddle - Ritchey WCS
Pedals - Easton (battered but bomb proof)\
Only marking on the bike is cosmetic - fork lowers probably showing the most, as is normal. Most of the bike looks pretty new. The frame is in great condition with hardly any marks on it.
I've posted more pictures on my blog
I'm happy to answer any questions and if you need pics of any particular parts I can also take those and add them to the blog.
I got the bike out to take photos for this sale, swung a leg over it and fell in love again. It's a great bike that will take anything and make you want to have fun.
