Halcyon Cerberus - first look

First sighting of Halcyon’s Cerberus

Halcyon Bikes has launched its 2011 range recently, and we’ve got an exclusive look at the first sighted example of the company’s top-of-the-range Cerberus.

The brand launched 18 months ago, and the Cerberus is the flagship mountain bike hardtail offering. It uses a 7005 aluminium frame with Octagonal Bi-Axial profile main tubes to increase stiffness and reduce weight. The frame looks to be smartly designed for UK conditions, with cables slung neatly under the top tube and a smart paintjob, plenty of mud clearance around the tyres and a keen spec.

The bikes are the brainchild of Gelert Cycle Division, a Welsh-based outdoor equipment brand that made the decision into cycling in the past couple of years and launched Halcyon in 2009. The bikes, which cover the mid to high-end price points, have been designed in-house in the UK Tony Wade and Halcyon’s Sales Director Peter Rimmer, and thoroughly tested on UK trails.

We’ll be getting a proper first ride on the Cerberus in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned for that.
