As the nights will soon begin to draw in (yes, I can’t stand to think about the dwindling daylight either), it’s handy to have a small set of get-you-home lights for those evening rides that can go on a little longer than planned or include a fuelling stop (at a pub, perhaps).

Australian company Knog have been around for a couple of years now and their small rubbery lights have been a hit, with a rainbow of bright colours and simple stretchy rubber body that wraps around any handlebar or seatpost size, requiring no tools to fit.

We’ve just taken delivery of a batch of new Knog lights, including the Strobe and Boomer. First up, the Strobe pushes out 25 Lumens of illumination via its single LED, housed inside a water resistant flexible silicon body. Knog claim its visible from up to 600 metres and should serve as a handy pair of lights to have in your backpack, either to get you home through the city or to get you to the trail saving your main lights. There are four colours for the front light and five for the rear, and they can be bought individually (£10.99) or in twin packs (£19.49).

If you prefer a bit more punch, the Boomer pumps out 50 Lumens from the front light and 30 Lumens for the rear, which should make for an impressive backup and if your weekly night ride involves a bit of road riding, where the Boomer should be more than adequate.

This light features four flash modes and a single constant setting, and the front has a low-battery indicator. Knog reckon on 80 hours in flash mode. A front Boomer costs £24.99, a rear £22.99 and a twin pack £45.99.
